Science/Philosophy question

Do we see purple wrong?

Okay so orange is a mixture of red and yellow, and on the electromagnetic spectrum, it’s wavelength falls between red’s and yellow’s. Green is a mixture of yellow and blue, and on the electromagnetic spectrum it’s wavelength is between yellow’s and blue’s. Purple is a mixture of red and blue, but it’s wavelength is ~400nm, not in-between red and blue, but outside of them. So do we see purple wrong, and substitute the red-blue colour at 400nm because our brains cannot perceive the actual colour?

Philosophy question

Do we exist in the present and perceive the past? Or do we exist in the future and perceive the present?

So, as anyone with a basic understanding of physics will tell you, light and sound all take time to travel to our eyes and ears. When we touch something, smell something, hear something, what have you, it also takes time for our nerves to react and for our brains to process this information. So arguably the world that we perceive is a very, very close past.

Alternately, your consciousness is the only absolute, correct? You cannot absolutely know that anyone else or even the universe itself legitimately exists, because it could be something you made up. So if you are the only absolute, can we even say the universe exists without you there to perceive it? If the universe doesn’t exist until you perceive it, then it only exists when you do, making the moment that you are seeing, smelling, hearing and feeling the present, and the moment where you exist is the future.

Does that make any sense? It’s really hard for me to explain. If anyone wants to offer an opinion I’d love to read it.
